I suspect that you are correct on all fronts with the reasons you listed for the testing frenzy. Just think how much money could be saved if we only solved this problem much less the hundreds of others. Thanks for your comment.</description>

		<description>So many doctors order too many tests and labs when the answer is obvious.  Not sure why ? legal threat, insecurity taught in medical school, focus on technology instead of sitting at the patient&#039;s bedside and taking a good history and laying out possibilities and treatment or options to work up the problem.  Simple example:  why order an A1C to make the diagnosis of diabetes when fasting blood sugar is &gt; 200.  Sure it&#039;s nice to compare to the improved number in 3 months but if its 8-12, are you going to change your approach to medications.  No.  Just a thought.</description>
