I said that I wasn’t going to comment anymore on healthcare reform but some numbers just out are fairly telling and I thought you might want to hear them.
According to Kaiser Health News a USA Today/Gallop Poll due out tomorrow says that the President and congressional Democrats have their work cut out for them in trying to convince their constituents that the healthcare reform bill will help them and their families. The poll of a little over 1,000 adults revealed that 50% of those polled said that the bill was a bad thing and 47% said it was a good thing.
The Miami Herald reported that a Mason – Dixon Polling and Research poll concluded that only 34% of Florida voters support the bill while 54% are against it.
It will be interesting to see how the Democrats try to sell the new healthcare reform bill when they get home. I think they realize that there could be some tough times in the voting booths this coming November. bjmdjd

I read this moning that young adults (18-35) will see their premiums increase from 17-47% under this plan. If that’s true. wonder how those “kids” will feel about hopeand change when they get the bill?

Reid: All partisan issues aside there is so much wrong with this bill that it is scarey. Two of the biggest problems were not dealth with. 1. Tort reform. Some doctors feel that as much as 50% of their costs to patients is due to the practice of defensive medicine and the fear of malpractice litigation. No profession other than physicians are held to a high standard of having to be correct 100% of the time. Expect NO tort reform. Almost all of political contributions by trial attorneys went to Democrats over the last few years. 2. No mention of trying to increase the number of primary care physicians. Huge shortage of these providers now. Who is going to take care of the millions of newly insured citizens? Everyone deserves healthcare BUT who is going to provide it? More will need to go to the ER for their care and that is an expensive kind of care. The ER is not meant to see sore throats. I am a strong believer in healthcare reform but the bill we are getting is a travesty and the way it was railroaded through is an even bigger one. Thanks for reading and your comments.
